From the coliseums of Rome to the opera houses of Paris, man loves to be entertained and enthralled by its mystique. For ages, humans sought to be amused and be able to forget the hardships they faced on a daily basis back when the world was mere infant. The roots began to ease the people and give, not only the nobles something to enjoy, but also the common man that works an everyday life as well.

Growing along with culture, the purpose of entertainment has changed over the years. It more recent years, the focus is more on fun and being able to do fun things rather then just thinking about doing them. A kind of show is called event entertainment group. These are usually preformed by groups of humans who seek to amuse the masses with their shows.

The preference people have will always be different. The most commonly popular among different cultures is dance and song. These are practised by nearly all the cultures that is known. This has how the ancestors performed rituals to appease the gods and to entertain the restless children. In the days of no technology, these were ways to pass time after doing all that one can.

During the period of renaissance, the interest in quality art increased in demand. Thus, the popularity the theatre had sky rocketed. Nearly everyone loved to go to the local theatre to watch the likes of Romeo and Juliet being performed of stage by actors and be enthralled by the drama of them.

The modern era saw significant change within the industry from how it was presented in the past. Now several companies will record and sell it as a product to be consumed by the people who wish for it. The evolution can be adapted to suit the taste of the masses.

The programs that people are most interested in has become the focal point within the industry. People now shift time for relaxation and leisure for recreational activities that they enjoy. There are two prevalent ways of recreation when people wish to have fun and seek entertainment when there is some for themselves.

The first one is the passive role. This is being a person will not participate much in the activity that is being done at the moment. The focus is to relax and watch what the presentation may be. Examples are going to a play in a theatre or going to an opera house to watch an opera performance.

The other one, is called Active activities. This is where the person will interact with the medium of entertainment such as playing card games or playing games with people who are around. This method is quite popular as the friends could bond around the connected games and be entertained at the same time. A lot of friendships are formed this way.

A lot of popular ones have died out. Back in the middle ages, public executions were very popular with peasants in the dark times of Europe. This have fallen out of popularity in favour of better methods.
