One of the things about a room that is devoted to a man is that it has what that guy wants. One of the reasons it is called what it is called is because it has to do with a man, not his wife, his children or the neighbor. It is there he may have everything he needs and everything right at his side. That is why the man cave decor is so specific in every case.

The designing or decorating of this room is based on the wants needs, desires and interests of the guy involved. It may revolve around sports, hobbies or any other things he likes to do and about what he thinks of them and himself. A few examples will help you understand what is meant by this.

If he is into sports, there definitely will be a large screen television. It may or may not be a flat screen. That would depend on his budget and what he can get out of the household budget for his room. If possible, he will have large speakers for the sound they will produce. The inclusion of a computer, hooked up to the Internet will help ensure a steady source of streamed games.

The thing he likes to do in his off hours might be woodworking. This entails a large table just for this type of work he will want to have a tool bench as well as a pegboard or two to hang his tools and other supplies. The addition of more electrical outlets will assist in this hobby.

Maybe reading is his main claim to fame. He will certainly need many bookshelves to hold his tomes in. He will need good lighting, right next to his easy chair. He may have a rack that holds magazines and an electronic reader to save money on some purchases.

The room will be furnished with carpets, area rugs and, possibly, a wet bar. There will also be posters that help him understand things. Maybe a sporting poster with a few of his favorite teams. Coin collecting, if this is what he is into, will need special drawers for the storing of supplies. These supplies will include padded forceps, alcohol wipes and coin holders. Magnifying glasses will need a drawer or might be hung in a place of honor. A safe may finish up the furnishings and can be used for valuable items.

Since this room is devoted to only one guy, everything in this space will relate to what he is all about. This space may actually be a room on the main floor of the house. It might be in the basement or in the attic, wherever he can find the space. It might be in a separate structure such as a shed as well.
