These things added beauty to our interior. It makes the interior of house look lovely and entertaining to the eyes, especially to our visitors. Possessing paintings, like watercolor marine art prints, is indeed a treasure to your house.

Paintings vary from sizes, designs and also the medium being used by the painter. There some painter who uses pastel, oil, charcoal and many others. But no matter what these kind of paintings are, the important thing is that we must give it proper care and below are some techniques in doing such.

Handling paintings is one most common cause of the damage of these items. When handling it, avoid touching the painting itself. Once you touch them, the natural oils in your fingers and the dirt would also transfer to the painting, which could then damage it. One way to perfectly handle these things is to use a clean gloves and touch it only on the frame.

After you have bought your painting, you would then want to display it. Always remember that when you display them, put them in a spot where there is not sunlight that could strike through it. Direct exposure to sunlight could damage the quality of your art. It could create a discoloration in your painting. Make sure you display it away from the heat of the sun.

Remember also not to expose your paintings to a spot in you house where there is too much heat. Avoid putting it near the cooking area, back of your refrigerator or any spot where there is extreme presence of heat. The heat will absorb the moisture of your painting, and leaving it dry and unattractive.

When storing those paintings which are not displayed, make sure that you keep it in a dry, clean and dark area. Ensure that the room is always clean and that there is no enormous heat that surrounds the room which could possibly destroy these items. Lie flat those which are not framed and see to it that it is not blocking the way so that it would not be stepped on.

Dust is a part of our everyday life so you should clean these things everyday too. For paintings that has no protective glass, use a soft feather duster to wipe the dust away and do not use a cloth when cleaning it for it may wipe the color away. For those who have protective glass, consult an expert on what cleaner to use so that it would not damage the clearness of the glass.

If in case these things got destroyed, do not ever try to fix it on your own. Better seek the help of the experts because they are more knowledgeable when it comes to these kinds of materials. You do not have to worry since they are well verse with these items.
