People in the world appreciate the painting. They can buy it, pay to see it or even create paintings but either way the paintings impact the lives of many people. For someone who is looking to going into color theory paintings, there are a number of things you should be aware of. For example, red, blue and yellow are the primary colors in the painting and cannot be made by mixing different colors.

There are different colors in general. The most basic ones are primary colors. These are original colors and cannot be formed by mixing other colors. These colors include red, yellow and blue. These colors, however, can be mixed to form other shades of colors which are known as secondary colors. The shade of the secondary color depends on the ratio used in mixing.

As far as primary colors are the most original colors, they come in diverse shades. These simply indicate there are different kinds of blue, red and yellow. Some colors are considered warmer than others. For example, a dull red color will always appear radiant than any shade of blue. Blue is considered a cool color in every shade.

Mixing two primary colors will result in a secondary color. The intensity and effect of the color will depend on the ratio of mixing and the colors used in forming the secondary color. For example, red and yellow forms orange. If the yellow is more than the red, the orange will be yellowish while if the red is more than the yellow the orange will appear reddish.

You may be wondering if it is really necessary to buy ready made colors if you can just mix them up yourself. You should not entirely depend on mixing colors by yourself. There are certain shades of color that are the only ready made and cannot be formed from mixing. Although some can be formed through mixing, buying them gives you an assurance of uniformity. You might lack the right proportions by mixing it yourself.

Greys and browns are known as tertiary colors. They are actually not as complicated as one may think. They are formed by mixing a secondary color with a primary color. The ratio used in mixing will determine the shade that will come up. The colors also used in mixing play a big role in the final shade that will come out. Different primary colors bring out different shades.

Another important bit is the complimentary colors. A complimentary color for primary colors is the one that is left out after mixing two primary colors. Secondary colors also have complimentary colors. You might be wondering the use of these complementary colors. When placed next to each other they appear bright and have an intensity effect.

As you carry on with experiments, you should keep a record of all your discoveries. These save you a lot of time when you start to paint. You can easily mix paints in a short time because you have the right colors and ratios. You should learn all the transparent and opaque colors and how you can use them effectively.
