Tattoos are modifications on the skin pigment done by a sharp object that inserts indelible ink under the skin to create images with different significances to the person applying them. Different people have different perceptions about tattoos, some like them while others cannot stand them; hence there arises situations where they have to be hidden to prevent them from being seen. Tattoos can be made invisible by cosmetics known as a tattoo concealer, which prevents them from being seen yet still maintain the skin tone.

The tattoo culture has been greatly influenced by celebrities and other famous people around the world. The culture has ultimately found its way into the fashion world. Fans who adore tattooed celebrities usually view tattoos to be sexy and trendy when they see photographs of the celebrities posing semi nude or with clothing that displays their tattoos. This tendency is common among the youths since they are curious and experimental.

There are different kinds of tattoos that the young generation is craving for hence saving every penny to get them done. There is permanent and temporary tattoos that are being drawn on the young peoples skin to have that attractive look. A permanent tattoo when drawn on the body lasts until one is dead the body flesh decays and parts with the bones while a temporary one is not drawn on the skin to stay for long.

Time and events has influenced this art. Permanent tattoos can be inscribed to mark a change that happened in a persons life and is always recalled each and every day, the event can be death of a loved one, the day ones life changed from rags to riches and so on. These tattoos have a great impact to the one who has it and it is embraced as if it will be lost in within no time though its there to stay.

Temporary tattoos are also influenced by the change of time and tides. They are drawn in the body and do not last for long; the reasons of them being done are to make a partner happy, to recall when one met with a companion and so on. When there is change in the life of the the tattoo owner, there is need to erase it for instance when one draws the name of a companion and the relationship gets blown away by events he or she feel the need to erase them.

When we look at the bigger picture tattoos at times do turn people off especially employers. When an employee has visible tattoos, chances of landing a good job especially in insurance firms and banks which deals with peoples money is minimal. This is where the need to hide them crops up in order to look innocent and reformed.

Public appearances also force people to hide these tattoos in order to prevent them from destroying their reputation. For instance, people attending places of worship like churches and mosques usually ensure that they are concealed as much as possible because the tattoos are against the religious doctrines. To show respect to religion, they always end up hiding the tattoos.

Other than the memories and fashion, tattoos also bring along major disadvantages to the people applying them. Such disadvantages include risk of skin cancer, contracting diseases due to the sharp objects used, and long healing process for healing process for large tattoos, among others. The young generation needs to be sensitized on the setbacks of getting tattoos on their bodies. This will make them less interested hence preventing them from the risks.
